Sandy Amoros - game-saving catch of Berra's fly ball in the 7th game. Batted .333 in the Series.


Center field: Duke Snider - batted .320, hit 4 HR, 7 RBIs in Series. Runnerup to '55 MVP. Hall of Fame.

Right field: Carl Furillo - batted .296, 1 HR, 3 RBIs in Series. Strongest arm in baseball. NL Batting Champ (.344) in 1953.


First base: Gil Hodges - batted .292, 1 HR, 5 RBIs in Series. Drove in both Dodger runs in the critical 7th game.

Second base: Jim Gilliam - batted .292 in Series. Rookie of the Year, 1953.


Third base: Jackie Robinson - batted .182, 4 singles, 2B, 3B, 2 RBIs, 5 runs, stole home. Hall of Fame.


Shortstop: Pee Wee Reese - batted .296 in Series. Team captain. Hall of Fame.


Catcher: Roy Campanella - batted .259, 2 HR, 4 RBIs in Series; MVP Nat'l League: '51, '53, '55. Hall of Fame.

Pitcher: Johnny Podres - Pitched 2 complete Series games, winning both, including a shutout in the 7th game.

Don Newcombe - Cy Young Award winner 1956. MVP NL '56. Rookie of the year, 1949. (20-5 in 1955; 27-7 in 1956).

Carl Erskine - 1948-59. (20-6 in '53, 18-15 in '54, 11-8 in '55, 13-11 in '56).

Clem Labine - 1950-1960. (13-5 in '55. Won one game in '55 Series).

Joe Black - 1952-1955. First black pitcher to win a World Series game (1952). All-Star '52, '53. R.O.Y., '52.

Roger Craig - rookie in '55, won one game in Series. Managed the San Francisco Giants to a World Series in 1989.

Tommy Lasorda - rookie in '55, did not play in Series. Managed the Los Angeles Dodgers to 1988 World Series Champs.

Sandy Koufax - rookie in '55, did not play in Series. Future Hall of Famer.
